Now in its 5th year, Pass2Pass™ Ultra-Trail stands as one of South Africa’s most demanding and authentic ultra running experiences. P2P is scheduled towards the tail end of the Cape summer — a transitional season where golden light meets unpredictable conditions. With six unique race categories – including the formidable P2P Hundred – the event offers something for every runner.

The route winds through one of South Africa’s most striking circular courses: beginning and ending at the base of the iconic Bain’s Kloof Pass, it climbs toward the misty heights of the Old Du Toitskloof Pass before tracing its way through Limietberg’s rugged heart. There’s a spirit here that echoes the early days of the sport — remote terrain, deep solitude, and long stretches that demand patience, grit, and respect.

Expect everything: technical terrain, long climbs, bone-deep silence, and conditions that can swing between searing heat and icy winds. Every step asks something of you – and every finisher walks away with a symbol of that effort: a finisher’s artifact to keep – a reminder of the work, the wildness, and the quiet moments only found deep in the mountains.
